Sevie Johnson Nelson Scholarship

The Sevie Johnson Nelson Scholarship was established in 2006 by Sevie’s son, James E. Nelson. Sevie was born in 1935. She received a master’s degree in Hospital Dietary Administration from KU in 1976, and worked as a dietician at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City and at the KU Medical Center. She also taught at Penn Valley Community College. She died in 1983.

This scholarship is for first-year students in the Department of Dietetics and Nutrition at the KU Medical Center.
