Susan Clark Maffei Memorial Occupational Therapy Scholarship

Susan Clark Maffei Memorial Occupational Therapy Scholarship

The Susan Clark Maffei Memorial Occupational Therapy Scholarship was established in 2003 by her parents, Jim and Ann Clark, and her husband, John D. Maffei. Susan was a longtime resident of Pittsburg, Kan., and graduated from KU in 1993 with a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy. After her graduation from KU, she worked as a registered occupational therapist in Liberty, Mo., Kansas City, Mo., Yakima, Wash., and Panama City, Fla. She then worked at Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Kan., for five years. Susan’s parents and husband created this scholarship in her memory, after she lost a 13-month battle with ovarian cancer in 2002.

This scholarship is for full-time students in the Department of Occupational Therapy Education who have demonstrated a sincere, compassionate attitude of service to others.
