School of Health Professions Dean’s Community Engagement
This scholarship will be given to a currently enrolled, full-time student in the School of Health Professions who meets the prescribed criteria and best exemplifies qualities of success.
A requirement for nomination is a minimum cumulative 2.5 grade point average for an undergraduate student or a minimum 3.0 program GPA for a graduate student.
Students may self-nominate. Past applicants and recipients of this award are welcome to apply.
Criteria:
Be a full-time, currently enrolled SHP student who will be enrolled next year in a program in the School of Health Professions.
Meet one of the following criteria:
a. First generation college student (parents did not complete a college or university degree) and/or past or current experience living in a rural community and/or multilingual ability.
b. Success in overcoming financial, social, family, physical, or educational hardship.
Proven experience as a leader or role-model within community organizations or your profession. Examples include:
a. Demonstrated commitment to serving communities served by your profession.
b. Evidence of a significant contribution to established community initiatives including program development, training, or advocacy.
Demonstrated track record of institutional involvement in community engagement activities such as involvement with campus committees or community service.
