To be considered for OTE Departmental Scholarships and specific School of Health Professions Scholarships (see below) you will only need to fill out ONE General Scholarship application by using the link below. Once you have successfully completed the application, it will automatically recognize which scholarships you are eligible for based on the requirements and criteria. Department of Occupational Therapy Scholarship Opportunities:
Jennings Nadine Hardesty Scholarship
This scholarship is available in the form of need-based grants for students currently enrolled in an academic program in the Department of Occupational Therapy Education.
Susan Clark Maffei Memorial Occupational Therapy Scholarship
This is a scholarship awarded each year to a selected full-time student. The student must demonstrate academic merit, financial need, and a sincere, compassionate attitude of service to others.
Barbara Reber Umlauf Scholarship
The Barbara Reber Umlauf Memorial Scholarship is a scholarship awarded each year to selected full-time students enrolled. The recipients must be members of the Student Occupational Therapy Association, have participated in both volunteer and work experiences, and have a competitive grade point average. Applications will be sent to students in the spring and awarded in the following fall and spring semesters.
Kathlyn ‘Kitty’ Reed Occupational Therapy Scholarship
Dr. Kathlyn ‘Kitty’ Reed established this scholarship to recognize a deserving occupational therapy student. The recipient must be an outstanding graduate student
Ellen Roose Scholarship
The Ellen Roose Scholarship is for deserving students of Occupational Therapy at the University of Kansas.
Occupational Therapy Scholarship
This scholarship is for deserving students currently enrolled in an academic program in the Department of Occupational Therapy Education.
Wyrick Joane Student Support
The fund will recognize occupational therapy students who are sincere and compassionate and are fierce advocates of the field.
School of Health Professions Scholarship Opportunities:
Dean’s Scholarship
The Dean’s Scholarship is given to meritoriously award full-time students within the KU School of Health Professions who have demonstrated excellence in scholastic accomplishments, professional leadership and commitment to community service as evidenced by achievements while in their program of study. A student is eligible to be nominated if he/she has a 3.5 or greater cumulative GPA.
Georgia Lou Loescher-Junge Scholarship
This scholarship is needs-based, and students must have a 3.5 or greater cumulative GPA.
Ringle Scholarship
Open to all students
RIF (Rehabilitation Institute Foundation)
Recipients must be from the Kansas City metro area as defined by the University of Kansas. Preference shall be given to students with a disability or from an underserved/underrepresented population. It is the donor’s vision that this fund benefits students who intend to go into clinical practice after graduation.
