Graduate Student Travel Funding Request
Applicants are required to search for additional funding outside of the University of Kansas. Additional funding from the applicant's department or program does not meet this requirement. Please note that applicants are not required to be awarded additional funding, but they are required to make a meaningful attempt to secure additional funding. The attempt to secure additional funding can be made through the conference, professional meeting, or professional development event the applicant wants to attend. Financial support for graduate students attending these events is often available. Professional organizations within the applicant's discipline are another source of funding that can be considered. Additional information on external funding can also be found on our website. This section requires evidence that additional funding has been secured or proof that the student has inquired about a funding opportunity outside of KU (e.g., funding application, email sent to conference/professional organization, screenshot of the event website indicating funds are/are not available for graduate students, award letter).
Evident of Search for Additional Funding: You are not required to be successful in your pursuit of additional funding, but you are required to show evidence that you are making a meaningful attempt to secure additional funding. The uploaded document must be a PDF.
Graduate Student Travel Fund: Indicate the amount requested from this fund as supported on your budget. As a reminder, the maximum award amount is $750.
