Courtwright Award for UGDL Research Excellence
“This fund shall be used to provide supplementary financial support for students who have declared a major in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences and have received an Undergraduate Research Award (UGRA) at the University of Kansas. Financial support shall be disbursed to students with the highest-ranking UGRA applications and research reports, without regard to other factors which may include, but are not limited to, financial need. The highest-ranking UGRA applications and research reports will be considered, with final awardees determined in an equitable manner by committee members and recognized annually. In selecting nominees and recipients, the donors asks the committee to consider the attached addendum. See fund file for addendum.
If fewer applications and research reports are judged sufficiently meritorious than the amount of financial support available to be disbursed in any given award cycle, only those judged by the committee to be adequate shall be disbursed; any unused award funds shall be reinvested into the principal of the fund. Amounts of the disbursements and the recipients thereof shall be determined by an appropriate committee appointed by the director of the Center for Undergraduate Research or its successor (”"Center"") with the approval of KU Endowment. Recipients will be reported to the donor annually by KU Endowment."
