Koch Opportunity Scholarship
The Koch Opportunity Scholars program was established in 2016 at the KU School of Business. It is funded and supported through a generous gift from Koch Industries. The gift is intended to support underrepresented and first-generation college students.
Up to five $2,500 scholarships to historically underrepresented or first-generation incoming freshmen who have been admitted to the University of Kansas and have an intent to major in business.
- Cumulative high school GPA of at least a 3.25 and/or a minimum ACT score of 25 (or 1220 SAT – Reading and Math only);
- Historically underrepresented and/or first generation college student;
- U.S. citizen;
- Admitted to the University of Kansas;
- Declared an intent to major in an eligible field within the School of Business on the KU admissions application. Eligible fields include Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, and Supply Chain.
Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated leadership and/or service experience in a student, professional, educational, or philanthropic setting.
All scholarships are annually renewable for up to three additional years (sophomore through senior) provided that the student remains a full-time undergraduate student in good standing with the School of Business and has a minimum cumulative college GPA of 3.0.
